31st Indiana Cave Symposium

The Indiana Cave Symposium, co-hosted by the IKC and the Indiana Cave Survey (ICS) is on Saturday, April 26th at the Orange County Community Center in Paoli. The pitch-in meal is at 5 PM EDT. The grills will be going again to provide the meats, and drinks will also be provided. Remember to bring a side dish or dessert to share. Six presentations of 15-30 minutes each will follow at 6:15 PM after a short intro and a 2026 Convention Teaser.

If you plan to attend, PLEASE RSVP here: https://form.jotform.com/250507540507148 so we can plan accordingly for the purchased food and plan for the number of attendees for seating.

Also note we will again be doing a pre-Symposium karst surface tour. What do caves, outlaws, and domes have in common? Join long-time IKC and ICS members Carroll Ritter, John Benton, and Carla Striegel-Winner for a visit to a couple of rarely accessed and lesser known cave/karst and historical sites in and around the Springs Valley area of Orange County. Because the number of participants will be limited, pre-registration for the tour is required at SymposiumTour2025.eventbrite.com Participants will depart from and be back to the Orange County Community Center (site of the Symposium) with plenty of time to be ready for the 5 PM dinner.

Finally note that prior to dinner from 4:00 – 5:00 PM, the 2026 NSS Convention Co-chairs Laura Demarest and Dean Wiseman will be available for one-on-one questions that people may have about the convention to be held in Corydon from July 6 to 10, 2026. This is also an opportunity to sign up to be a volunteer.
